ALERT!!! Tasting Room is Closed on  FRIDAYS (went into effect on 3/28/2025) and will be CLOSED ENTIRELY FOR REMODELING EFFECTIVE WITH CLOSE OF BUSINESS ON SUNDAY JUNE 8, 2025.

TO: All Customers and Wine Club Members!!

The Shadow Mountain Vineyards & Winery Tasting Room will be CLOSED on FRIDAYS until further notice.

This change is due in part to reduced weekday business as well as the impacts of Highway 79 construction that is scheduled for March 2025 through March 2027, between Pauba Road and Highway 371 in Riverside County. (See image) - Note: CalTrans has adjusted their work hours to Monday thru Thursday, 6:00AM to 6:00PM, for the single lane closures, but off-road work AND the 45MPH speed limit are happening on Fridays (the construction work zone speed limit is ENFORCED by CHP 24/7, even weekends when no work is happening).

See below for details, but to accommodate weekday customers, we will be implementing a limited, pre-purchased wine (pick up only) appointment system for Wednesdays through Sundays between Noon and 4pm.

Details:

1. Effective June 14, we will no longer be open on Saturdays and Sundays, as we are going to be remodeling the tasting room and taking some vacation time before harvest.

2. Effective Wednesday, April 2, 2025, we will have an APPOINTMENT ONLY pre-purchased wine pick up system Wednesday through Sunday, between the hours of 12pm and 4pm.

3. Pre-Purchase pick up appointments are NOT for wine tasting, wine by the glass, or any other Club benefits, but will ONLY be for picking up previously-purchased wine: either pre-paid Wine Club selections or paid website wine store orders made as pick up orders. (We will still ship your wine if you pay for shipping or are set as “ship” in your Wine Club).

4. Same Day Appointments will NOT be accepted. (We hear from many of you that you cannot visit regularly because of the coordination needed to make the trip, so we are asking for the same courtesy. Please make your appointment request no less than 24 hours in advance of the requested day/time).

5. Appointment requests can ONLY be made by TEXTING the winery at 760-782-0778, or via our web chat embedded here in our website. Phone, email and social media comment/messaging appointments will NOT be accepted. Both text and web chat methods have off-hours, so please plan on contacting us between 8am-6pm Pacific Time no less than 24 hours in advance of your desired appointment. Note: a request made at 4pm or later for the following day will not be accepted.

6. NO drive-in and text/call same-day appointments. If our gate is open, it is to accept deliveries or honor appointments made by others. The presence of other cars does NOT entitle you to an appointment.

7. No Monday or Tuesday appointment requests, under any circumstances.

Terms:

1. Club members who no-show with less than 24 hours notice will be charged a $25 fee to the card on file.

2. Non-Club members who no-show with less than 24 hours notice will not have future appointment requests approved.

3. Appointment requests need to include your first & last name, and valid contact information.

4. Requests also need to indicate the order # of the wines being picked up, (or if they are part of an earlier wine club allocation we've been holding) so we can verify your wines are ready prior to accepting your appointment.

5. Response to appointment requests may be made within 30 minutes after they are received by the winery, but it may take up to 4 hours to receive confirmation. Please do not send duplicate requests. If we do not get back to you, please do not assume your request is approved.

We apologize in advance for the inconvenience caused by this change, but we need to shift our focus, and would like to see increased traffic to our web page for online ordering.

We have shared this information on all platforms: our website, Facebook, Instagram, Google, Yelp, TripAdvisor, Priority Wine Pass, YP, Julian Chamber, and via email to our mailing list, as well as texts to our SMS-enrolled Club Members, so please do not trust other sources beyond those we control, regarding our hours and appointments.

*Note that we can make exceptions in extraordinary circumstances, specifically for Wine Club Members in Good Standing, so please ask if you need assistance with this new arrangement.
